Individual Therapy is a journey in which the therapist helps guide you to be the best version of yourself. In therapy, we discover unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior and collaboratively create a treatment plan to produce change and improve your life.
Family Therapy helps families address issues that affect their mental health and relationships. It allows family members to strengthen their bonds, communicate better, and resolve conflicts. By enhancing how family members interact with each other, family therapy encourages positive change in their relationships.
Couples therapy is a form of psychotherapy where partners in a romantic relationship work with a therapist to address challenges, improve communication, and strengthen their emotional bond. In therapy, we help guide couples to alter negative interaction patterns, develop empathy, enhance communication and problem-solving skills, rebuild trust, and manage life transitions.
Treatment Methods
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). CBT focuses on breaking down overwhelming problems into smaller manageable ones. CBT is based on the belief that our thoughts influence our feelings and behavior. CBT focuses on teaching skills and techniques to cope and alter behavior. CBT helps you manage your emotions and thoughts and improve self-esteem.
Solution Focused is a brief style of therapy in which we focus on solutions without deep diving into every detail of the problems being experienced. Solution Focused therapy strives to find realistic and workable solutions as quickly as possible to minimize the time in therapy. Solution Focused identifies the patient’s default solution patterns and improve them to work more efficiently for the patient.
Strengths Based therapy focuses on the patient’s positive qualities, strengths and resiliency and utilizing these to improve their life. Strengths Based therapy works to improve a patient’s view of themselves and their view of the world to a more positive one. Strengths Based therapy encourages the patient to reframe weaknesses into strengths to face their problems and find solutions.
Trauma Focused therapy utilizes psychoeducation to normalize reactions and experiences with trauma. Trauma Focused therapy teaches patients coping skills and how to handle trauma triggers and memories. Trauma therapy focuses on helping the patient to gain a sense of safety back in their lives.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR accesses frozen memory networks using dual attention stimuli, processes out the disturbing material, integrates helpful information into the memory, and reduces/eliminates trauma symptoms. EMDR strengthens positive internal belief systems opening you up to a wide variety of new positive experiences in life.
Bowen Family Systems Theory is a framework that views the family as an interconnected emotional unit rather than a collection of separate individuals. It suggests that what seems like one person's problem often stems from emotional patterns within the entire family. The theory is built around eight interrelated concepts that explain how anxiety, closeness, and conflict are transmitted through families and across generations.
Structural Family Therapy examines the relationships, boundaries, and hierarchies within a family unit. It emphasizes direct interactions among family members as the primary means of creating positive change. The key principle of Structural Family Therapy is that families can discover their own alternatives to the problematic patterns in their interactions with one another.
The Gottman Method aims to strengthen three key areas of a relationship: friendship, conflict management, and shared goals. In therapy, couples learn to enhance their interactions, fostering a deeper emotional connection. This approach provides valuable insights into relationship dynamics and offers tools for long-term maintenance.
