“Success as a therapist is not found in doing something for the patient but rather in being someone for the patient.” - Ili Rivera Walter.
This quote is a great way to describe who I am as a person and my style of therapy. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and a EMDR Trained Clinician. I have worked in several different settings and levels of care within the mental health field. I have experience working in the Emergency Department assisting with acute mental health and substance use patients. I have worked in outpatient agencies providing individual therapy and facilitated mental health groups, intensive outpatient groups, and partial hospitalization groups for mental health and substance use.
I enjoy being myself to be able to connect with my patients on a real level. I am the same person in session as I am in real life. I am very down to earth, calm, positive, and empathetic. I am originally from New Bern, NC and I received my BSW and MSW in Social Work from East Carolina University, a Pirate for life. I am married and we have two fox red labs named Beau and Penny. Usually, one or both of them are in my office during sessions. I enjoy reading, spending time laughing with friends and family, and being out on the water.

C A I L E E T O S T R U D
In my work with couples, I focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and helping partners feel seen, heard, and understood. For individuals, I provide a supportive space to explore personal history, heal from trauma, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to be honest and vulnerable. Whether you are navigating relationship challenges, past trauma, or life transitions, my goal is to help you move toward greater clarity, connection, and emotional well-being.
